While visiting Las Vegas in August, I caught the Stars of Comedy show at Harrah’s with Carlos Mencia. What a pleasant surprise! Not that I wasn’t expecting it to be funny, I just don’t see a lot of comedy and had no idea what I was in for.
What I Loved About Stars of Comedy and Carlos Mencia
What I was in for was a whole of snorting and runny makeup. I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time. In fact, I don’t think I’ve laughed this hard since I saw Ali Wong for the first time. Nothing is off limits with Mencia. As he says, if we all want to be equal, we all have to be OK with being laughed at. I don’t want to to give away any of his jokes, but his bits about how stupid people are still have me giggling.
The show opener is funny as hell too. Gabe Lopez is a Vegas comic who not only opens for Mencia at Harrah’s, but he also travels as his opening act. In fact, he mentioned that the duo will be in Texas this fall.
