Convera links up with Ascent One to help agents with cross-border payments

The deal has seen Convera’s “embedded payments solution” integrated into the system of the agent management platform Ascent One, giving education agents and international students “a seamless online payment experience”, the company said.

The partnership, announced last week (August 22), embeds Convera’s international tuition payment platform GlobalPay for Students into institutions’ websites and management systems, simplifying what is often an “overwhelming and error-prone” system, Convera said.

It explained that the solution means students have access to a range of payment options, and can pay in their own currency.

Agents and international students can also bypass intermediary bank fees, it added.

“By eliminating the need for multiple redirects, students and education agents can now securely complete large cross-border payments through a single interface,” it said.

“By leveraging Convera’s embedded payments solution into our platform, education agents across 167 countries can seamlessly manage any part of the student’s study journey from recruitment to admissions to facilitating payments on the student’s behalf all from one place,” said Naresh Gulati, CEO, Ascent One.

“Our partnership with Ascent One means we’re able to offer an agent solution via our new embedded payments solution that is helping education institutions and education agents to process student payments safely and efficiently,” said Julie Armstrong, Convera’s VP, general manager, global head of industry solutions & partnerships.
